Legends of the Alamo
Santa Ana stormed the Alamo in San Antonio and killed every one
of the Texas and American defenders. William Travis, David Crockett
and James Bowie were among those killed. In March 1836 Sam Houston
avenged the carnage at the Alamo by defeating General Santa Ana
at the Battle of San Jancinto. Their war cry was the famous "Remember
the Alamo" which is repeated this day by some Texans who live
in California. |
