Blackfoot Martingale

Twin beaded panels with large brass bell dangles. Old time glass bugle trade beads. Extensive use of cut beads and Italian seed beeds on canvas backing.
Traditionally sewn.
Classic Blckfoot hourglass and cross motif.
Circa: 1885-90
A very exceptional piece.

The piece hangs over the head of a horse and is used exclusively as a decorative piece during dances and all large social gatherings.
Originally owned by Jim White Calf and later used by Cecile White Calf.
Cecile used this piece after her marriage to Jim White Calif.
